I am going to tell you about my school. My school is new and modern and I like it very much. It has three floors. The classrooms are light and spacious. There are classrooms for different subjects, such as English, History, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology Literature etc.
There is a computer class in our school. We study computer science here. The computer class has the most modern equipment and the Internet access.
We’ve also an assembly hall, which is situated on the second floor. Meetings, conferences, concerts and all the celebrations take place here. We prepare different performances for all holidays. We sing songs, recite poetry, dance, and participate in theatre performances.
There are many opportunities to go in for sports in our school. Our school has a gym, a sports ground, a football field, a swimming pool, and other sports facilities. There are many different sports groups: table tennis, swimming, athletics, football, volleyball, wrestling, and rhythmic gymnastics. Many pupils of our school attend these sports groups.
In our school we have also painting group, dance group, theatre group and rock group. All these groups are very popular and many pupils attend them.
The teachers in our school are very skilled. They try to give us all their knowledge and awake our interest to their subjects and to self study. Besides the school subjects, our teachers tell us about everything, about different problems of our world, such as ecology, nature protection, climat changes etc.
There is a good tradition in our school. Every year people who graduated our school come here to meet their teachers and classmates. These meetings take place every first Saturday of February.
I think that school years are very important for every person. It’s a period of becoming adult, achieving knowledges, and choosing your way in life. Often school friends remain your friends for all your life. So I’ll never forget my school, my teachers, and my classmates.

У нас много различных спортивных секций: настольный теннис, плавание, легкая атлетика, футбол, волейбол, борьба и художественная гимнастика. Многие ученики посещают эти спортивные секции.
В нашей школе также есть кружки рисования, танцев, театральный кружок и рок-группа. Все эти кружки очень популярны и многие ученики посещают их.
В нашей школе преподают очень квалифицированные учителя. Они стараются передать нам все свои знания и пробудить интерес к своим предметам и к самообразованию. Учителя не только преподают нам школьные предметы, но и рассказывают обо всем, о различных мировых проблемах, таких как экология, охрана природы, климатические изменения и т.д.
В нашей школе есть хорошая традиция. Каждый год выпускники школы приходят на встречу с учителями и одноклассниками. Эти встречи проходят каждую первую субботу февраля.
Я считаю, что школьные годы очень важны для каждого человека. Это период взросления, приобретения знаний и выбора жизненного пути. Очень часто школьные друзья остаются вашими друзьями на всю жизнь. Поэтому я никогда не забуду мою школу, учителей и одноклассников.

| My name is Ann. I’m thirteen years old. I’m a pupil of a state secondary school. At the moment I’m studying in the 7th form. In a few years I’ll finish the school and I’m planning to enter a university. I wonder what the school of the future will be like. I think it will change a lot for the better. For example, at the moment my school is situated in quite an old building, but our principal says that in the nearest future some renovations will take place. So I believe that in two or three years the school will look much better and newer. Another thing I would change in my school is the size of the rooms. Our group consists of twenty-eight pupils and some classrooms are so small that there is hardly enough space for all of us. So I’d like the classrooms to be larger and lighter. We have recently started learning computer science and there is a new well-equipped classroom for this subject. We love attending computer lessons, but sometimes there aren’t enough computers for everyone. Besides they are quite big and occupy lots of space in the room. I’m sure that in the future everybody will have a personal computer and the school will buy more modern technology for its pupils. We also enjoy PE (Physical Education) but I’d like those lessons to become more interesting. We only play in the schoolyard and do some exercises. I think that swimming lessons in summer and skiing in winter would be a good idea. I hope that some changes will take place before I finish school. | Меня зовут Анна. Мне 13 лет. Primary and secondary school is a very important part of every person’s life. 6 and 16 years, a child grows up and gets prepared for the adult life. Boys and girls learn how to read and write, do sums and write compositions. They also acquire some knowledge of the world history, biology, physics, chemistry and geography. The best poems and novels trigger strong emotions. Prominent achievements in labor, music and physical training lessons are remembered all life.

A modern education system is quite efficient. Nevertheless, is far from being ideal. Buildings and furniture become deteriorated and they are not comfortable enough. Equipment and visual aids are getting outdated. School programs are complicated and some subjects are not interesting. The main focus is made on the development of linguistic and mathematical abilities. School meals are not tasty and the uniform is not elegant. Some teachers do not love their profession, they are either aggressive or lack willpower. Low salaries are not motivating and the work conditions are not inspiring.
Современная система образования является достаточно эффективной. Но она далеко не идеальна. Здания и мебель становятся обветшалыми и недостаточно удобными. Оборудование и наглядные пособия устаревают. Школьная программа сложная, а некоторые предметы неинтересные. Основной акцент делается на развитие языковых и математических способностей. Школьные обеды невкусные. Некоторые учителя не любят свою профессию, они ведут себя слишком агрессивно или проявляют безволие. Низкие зарплаты не мотивируют, а условия работы не вдохновляют.
I hope that in the future the attitude to school will be different. People will have a strong belief that children are the most valuable “human capital” and that education is the most attractive sector for investments! A schoolteacher will become the most prestigious profession. The competition will be very strong and the selection of candidates will be fair and transparent. Only a talented, wise, kind and intelligent person will be able to get an employment in school. Schoolteachers will be honored and respected by everyone. Their remuneration will be much higher than in any commercial sector.

Люди будут твердо верить в то, что дети – это самый ценный "человеческий капитал", и что образование – это самый привлекательный сектор для инвестиций! Children will consider their school the best place on the planet! They will enjoy every school subject and they will put all their efforts to learn more. All study and upbringing processes will be based on mutual respect and trust. A school uniform will be elegant and comfortable. All students will love their school so much that they will be happy to stay there any extra minute!

An individual approach to every child will be the main principle. Mental and physical abilities, interests and cultural peculiarities will be taken in consideration. School programs will be diversified and involve development of multiple intelligences. Nowadays, the process of acquiring knowledge is mainly based on the use of vision and hearing organs, vocal apparatus and handwriting. But in the future, teachers will also use the organs of smell and taste as well as the kinesthetic system. For example, a pleasant flavor and taste of a strawberry will help to memorize the correct spelling of this word in a foreign language. Children will learn through action-oriented games, role-playing, miming, craftwork, painting, singing and dancing as well. Every one will have the possibility to expose his or her best abilities and get the adequate assessment and acknowledgement.
Индивидуальный подход к каждому ребенку будет главным принципом. Учитываться будут умственные и физические способности, интересы и культурные особенности. Школьная программа будет разнообразной, а также направлена на развитие разных навыков. I am a pupil of the 11-th form, I study at school number 9. I would like to tell your about our school life.
I go to school five days a week. Our classes start at 8 o"clock a. m. and last till 3 o"clock p.m. So we have 6 or 7 lessons a day. We study many different subjects: Russian, English, French, literatures, history, geography, biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, programming and computer sciences.
Languages, literature and history are my favourite subjects. I make good marks in these subjects. The school year is divided into four terms, called quarters. It begins on the 1st of September known as a Day of knowledge and finishes in May.
Each quarter is followed by holidays. Every pupil has a day-book where the teachers put down the marks, that pupil has earned at the class. During the classes pupils are to answer the teacher"s questions, do some exercises, write sentences, count, read.
The pupils are often called to the blackboard. After every lesson the teachers give us home assignment. At the next lesson the teachers check them up. To do good at school one should make home assignments regularly, be active at the lessons and spend at least two-three hours every day studying.
I like studying. My favourite proverb is "Live and learn".

Я хожу в школу пять раз в неделю. Наши занятия начинаются в 8 часов утра и продолжаются до 3 часов дня. Значит/(поэтому) у нас шесть или семь уроков в день. Мы изучаем много разных предметов: русский, английский, французский языки, литературу, историю, географию, биологию, физику, химию, математику, программирование и информатику.
Мои любимые предметы — языки, литература и история. Я получаю хорошие оценки по этим предметам. Школьный год разделен на четыре периода, называемых четвертями. Год начинается 1 сентября, известного как День знаний, и заканчивается в мае.
После каждой четверти есть каникулы. У каждого ученика есть дневник, в который учитель ставит полученные учеником оценки. Во время урока ученики должны отвечать на вопросы учителя, выполнять упражнения, писать предложения, считать, читать.
Часто учеников вызывают к доске. После каждого урока учитель задает домашнее задание. А на следующем уроке проверяет его. Чтобы хорошо учиться в школе, нужно постоянно выполнять домашние задания и заниматься уроками хотя бы по два-три часа в день.
Мне нравится учиться. Моя любимая пословица такая: "Век живи, век учись".
